Giovanni Bolzoni was a 19th century Italian violinist who also was a part-time conductor and composer. The bulk of his career was teaching violin Savona. This composition of his is a little gem that may not be as well known as other works, but it is charming and a bit challenging because it is written in B Major. One note for bass players, the part written is a typical I and V bass line which is not challenging at all. You might enjoy learning and practicing the cello part even if you eventually perform the written bass part.
