Zampa Overture is a good full orchestra work that is very approachable for emerging musicians. In 1831 Hérold wrote this three-act opera as a comical piece. Although it was fairly popular during this time, it has faded in the literature. This is not an arrangement but an MSC edition. All MSC editions consider the typical school orchestra setting in that wind parts are transposed for the typical instruments found in a school setting. String parts are bowed to provide the best possible sound for young musicians. Fingerings are not in the score and parts but suggested fingerings are discussed in the practice videos.
Free score and parts can be found on IMSLP.
Practice Videos will be available soon.
